17^th Annual Oakland Juneteenth Celebration & Street Festival, Freedom Day!

THIS YEAR’S THEME IS: “Reaching for Wholeness One Love, One Liberation!”

B-H Brilliant Minds Project, Inc. is excited to come back together for the 17^th Annual Oakland Juneteenth Celebration and Street Festival, Freedom Day.  Now deemed as a Federal Holiday which is fast-ly approaching!   Please join us on Saturday, June 22, 2024, on Brockhurst Street in Oakland, CA. (between Market Street and San Pablo Avenue) for a day affirming, The Brilliance, Resilience, and Love of African Diaspora People.  By presenting our past, present and future accurately, by showcasing the wide range of talent, art, music through our cultural traditions, and family fun.  This year’s theme is: “Reaching for Wholeness, One Love, One Liberation!”

For the last 16 years, B-H Brilliant Minds Project, Inc., Oakland Juneteenth Celebration has CLOSED OUT, the Bay Area Juneteenth Events.  We have brought people from all over Oakland and the Greater Bay Area together, to acknowledge the affliction and affirm the effects, the trauma of slavery has had on our people.  Juneteenth gives us the opportunity to educate our communities in order, to breakdown, barriers that stops movement towards healing oneself and our communities.  Knowing our mental health & spirituality plays a significate roll in healing.

Over the years over 1,500 people or more, has enjoyed the street festival that includes live music, free health screenings, oral history presentations, exhibits, workshops, quilting display, food, and many other symbolic activities to commemorate our African American Heritage.  We continue to create community inclusion by fostering relationships with neighbors, communities, and business owners alike.   B-H Brilliant Minds Project Inc. uplift and showcasing local artist, businesses owners, and organizations.

The Festivities of the Day will include:

• Live DJ’s (2 Stages)
• R&B, Jazz, Rap & Gospel Performances
• Local Vendors Displays and Sales/Community Resources
• MADE*MEN Bay Area’s Finest Motorcycle Club
• HOMIES Empowerment (Freedom Booth)
• Health Zone/Mental Wellness/Health Screenings/Resources
• Healing Circles
• Martial Art Demo
• Fashion Show
• Financial Literacy Workshops
• HHREC/YAB/TAY Zone
• Little Genius Kid Zone
• Food Vendors

We continue to invite local organizations and vendors to participate in this community gathering.  We focus on the entire city, in bringing everyone together to partake in the positive vibration and celebration of a rich culture and our history of overcoming enormous opposition.  Oakland is one of the most diverse cities in the Bay Area.  Having our community members from all   different heritages together, to celebrate One Love and One Liberation.

If you would like to secure a vending space(s) or host a resource table(s), please complete the attached forms, return them via email.  Spaces are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of your application, fee, and business license.  Once all documents are received and APPROVED you will receive confirmation via eMail, text or telephone call, of your space at this year’s Oakland’s Juneteenth Celebration & Street Festival.   B-H BRIILIANT MINDS PROJECT INC. HAS THE RIGHTS TO DENY ANY APPLICATION.
